Sitting under the mighty Nepenthes family tree, South2 West8 started as an independent retailer before developing into a clothing brand. Founded in 2002 by Kaname Nagaoka, the brand largely takes inspiration from the art of Tenkara fly fishing. Their distinctive pieces feature technical details fused with bold prints, durable fabrics and relaxed silhouettes.

NEEDLES

Founded in 1995, Needles, just one of the sub-brands housed under the infamous Nepenthes, filters elements of vintage americana, military and sportswear into vibrant and unique garments unique from any other. Making a name for themselves with their iconic Needles Rebuild - centering around the concept of clothes once mass produced and left without purpose and rebuilding them into brand new seasonal pieces - and the signature style of the H.D. Pant, the brand has gone on to gained a loyal following of individuals who are looking for something different from the rest.

POP TRADING COMPANY

Through long-time connections within the skateboarding scene, Amsterdam-based Peter Kolks and Ric van Rest founded Pop Trading Company in 2016. In addition to playful graphic tees, Pop Trading Company goes further than the usual skateboarding brand. From Japanese-inspired menswear to casual open collar shirts and technical pieces, their collections offer a wide selection of contemporary staples.

SUB SUN

Sub Sun is a sunglasses brand steeped in the tradition of London's underground music culture. It is built to serve, support and supply those who participate in and enjoy this culture: from centre stage to front left. Created by Bradley Zero, founder of Rhythm Section institution, Resident Club DJ, Broadcaster and Label Boss of one of the most exciting new imprints today – Rhythm Section International. The sunglasses are cut from the highest quality Mazzucchelli acetate, barrel spun for 30 days then hand finished and fitted with CR39 UV400 scratch resistant lenses.

RHODOLIRION

Brand new and UK exclusive to Goodhood, RhodolirioN is a womenswear label sitting under the Nepenthes family. All lines are designed by ex-Beams Boy designer, the talented Yumi Sudo, which tells you everything you need to know regarding quality, style, fabrics and silhouettes. Their name comes from the robust alpine plant, Rhodophiala rhodolirion, which grows a field of purple flowers only once every few years under the harsh conditions of the desert.

Transparent sound focus on three key modules: Origin, Future and Transparency. These build up the brands circular design philosophy, the origin of where things come from and what they are made of, the future of what happens to the product after they are sold and the transparency of showing things for what they really are.

The American brand's signature Chuck Taylor All Stars will forever be the perfect staple, executed with love and mutual understanding.

ADIDAS

Founded in 1924, Adidas has grown into not only one of the world's most recognised sporting brands, but also one of the most iconic in all sectors. As well as providing equipment and sponsorship for an endless number of sports and athletes, Adidas has an equally big following in the hazy world of fashion. Between Sambas, Superstar 2s, or Gazelles, the Adidas Originals and adidas Spezial have become staple trainers whilst their ever innovative current day collections continue to populate our feet. There's no excuse to wear anything else!

NIKE

Before there was Nike, there were two men who pioneered a revolution within the athletics industry that redefined the trainers industry completely. Coaches and athletes themselves, the group formed Blue Ribbon Sports, a store that would eventually lay the foundations for Nike. Into the 70's and Nike were starting to become noticed, not only for there distinctive Swoosh logo, but also for the lightweight construction of their track and field footwear.

ARTWORDS BOOKSHOP

ARTWORDS is an independent bookshop founded in 2001 that specialise in books and zines on the contemporary visual arts and visual culture. For 20 years they were close neighbours of ours, with their first store on Rivington Street and are now staples of Broadway Market. They have been much missed in Shoreditch so we asked them to curate an edit of books for the Goodhood community that will be forever evolving.

STRANGER THAN PARADISE

We’ve teamed up with our friendly record store neighbours Stranger Than Paradise to curate an ever-evolving edit of records and special edition vinyls, available online and in-store from our record wall. Ran by three long time friends and named after Jim Jarmusch’s 1984 masterpiece, Stranger Than Paradise is an Independent record store in the heart of Hackney, dedicated to sourcing a carefully curated selection of the best new release, reissue and special edition vinyl.

UNIFIED GOODS

We're working with progressive vintage dealer Unified Goods to create an ongoing guest space that will house a library of unique goods, curated by head honcho James Goodhead. Expertly sourced, culture defining, cult status clothing and lifestyle objects from around the globe, featuring artefacts spanning the realms of post-punk, 90's era Warp Records, the halcyon eras of skate culture, iconic Anime or Japanese Street Fashion.
