Bernhard Willhelm has the freedom to choose themes on a whim, not following the increasingly staid fashion industry; instead tucked away in his studio in Paris he is able to block out the ‘parts of fashion that depress him’

Over the years Willhelm has constructed his own universe, always rich in fantasy, taking inspiration from toys and super heros once neglected in his childhood. On first glance Willhelm's world appears cute and child like but upon closer inspection is often subtly grotesque, perverse or magnificently beautiful. 

Like many of the great fashion houses Willhelm's world is always slightly ironic, violating taboos and breaking accepted dress codes. His consistently clever pattern cutting and vibrant prints make each Willhelm piece a unique investment and enough to brighten even the blandest wardrobe.
