Those of you that are older than 26 will probably have an appreciation for the kids of Shermer High who serve a Saturday detention that makes up the 80′s video masterpiece – The Breakfast Club. The prom queen (Clair – a fat girls name!) played by Molly Ringwold is perhaps not initially the coolest but after 5 hours of detention and the influence of John Bender the prom queen comes good. Hey, we noticed you could recreate her look with some of this season’s key pieces, starting with Junya Watanabe’s statement Biker Jacket for Comme des Garcons. Team with Antipodium’s long Midwest Skirt in tobacco with an over sized Sophomore tee tucked in, then add Surface To Air’s Buckle Ankle Boots to complete Molly’s look. The end of the movie sees Clair give bad ass John a pearl ear ring but we think John should have given her a Dog States Silver Skull and Crossbones necklace from our men’s collection, to show the prom queen can get low down and dirty!

Final Home fleece lined jackets
December 3rd, 2009 by redWe’ve been getting some really good feedback about one of our more recent brands here at goodhood – Final Home from Japan. They’ve always specialised in manufacturing great looking gear to some of the highest standards and everyone loves them for it! Their new chocolate tee’s are going down a storm with their chocolate wrapper style packaging, but with winter getting itself ready to cause grief and make us all shiver we thought we’d highlight one of their jackets which has had great reviews left right and centre – the shorter bodied of their two fleece lined jackets.
R. Newbold Rain Jacket
September 18th, 2009 by redLet’s talk about exclusive. Exclusive is good. REAL good. You obviously know what we mean because you’re here at goodhood rather than the run-of-the-mill high street clothes stores, so we’re trusting you not to go and tell everyone about our R. Newbold jackets – let’s keep it to ourselves and keep it exclusive please. We’ve always loved our R. Newbold rain jacket, but we thought we’d share some of the company’s history and background to help you fully appreciate the exclusivity!
Ian Brown wearing Perks & Mini
September 12th, 2009 by KyleIan Brown is plain and simple one of our favourite artists. We would definitely site him as one of our major influences for being where we are, and apart from his momentous music contributions he has always dressed with formidable style! Copied and imitated by many, last time i saw him live i couldn’t help but laugh when he came on stage swaggering holding his jacket open – effectively showing the lining of his jacket, I think it was a neighbourhood silk baseball jacket.. and the lining was indeed sharp. Anyway i found this picture of him wearing a Perks & Mini Jacket. Similar style to what you’d expect from Ian but with Pam’s signature graphics and gold sleeves! Too good! Its a tambourine in his hand but it could almost be a giant hot dog!
Definitely looking forward to his new album out later this month, “My Way,” and if you didn’t know he’s playing Brixton – tickets going fast get in there!
