London’s East End is a borough known for creativity, originality and individuality. It’s is one of London’s most rejuvenated areas and is going through changes on a daily bases. With back streets turning into new Bond Streets and warehouses into penthouses it’s a fascinating place to be at the moment. So when we came across Alan Dein’s 1988 photographs of East End shop fronts it was a real treat to see how the area we love so much looked 25 years ago and the potential it had beneath the cracks.

March 23rd, 2012 by AdamIt’s Friday, and time for a wee roundup of all the good stuff.
1. England got warm, London got sunny, everyone got happy.
2. Mad Men Season 5 premiers on Sunday!
3. Stylist Stephen Mann scanned in a load of old Japanese streetwear magazines.
4. Pick Me Up London kicked off on Thursday at Somerset House, go check out a load of excellent illustration over the weekend.
5. Leisure pointed us in the direction of Badlands777.com which is a blog run by a bunch of girls that seem to constantly party in front of 35mm cameras.

February 17th, 2012 by AdamHere are The Goodhood Stores picks of some of the best stuff that happened this week.
1. Kate Moss for Supreme campaign hit the streets of New York and London (and probably others), Tumblr, streetwear blogs and Instagram almost melted with hype.. along with every kids wallet.
2. London label Hyper Dub casually dropped one of the most anticipated releases of the year in the form of Burial – Kindred E.P. As we have come to expect from the off radar South London producer it ticks all the right boxes and doesn’t stray too far from what he does best.
3. Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon catches up with Chloe Sevigny for Interview Magazine regarding her latest project, Hit and Miss, in which she plays a pre-op transgender assassin living in Manchester.
4. Jacob Sutton’s L.E.D Surfer. Fashion photographer and filmmaker Jacob Sutton swaps the studio for the slopes of Tignes in the Rhône-Alpes region of south-eastern France, with a luminous after hours short starring Artec pro snowboarder William Hughes. The electrifying film sees Hughes light up the snow-covered French hills in a bespoke L.E.D.-enveloped suit courtesy of designer and electronics whizz John Spatche. A must watch.
