Super Retrofuture hit the catwalk

March 1st, 2010 by red

Not so long ago we took a look at some of Super’s new spring 2010 collection – remember those new angular flat-top frames? Niiiiiiice! Well it was the turn of these new ‘Lucia’s’ to catch our eye today so we knew we had to do the right thing and share them with you. We spotted them at the recent showing of the Vena Cava autumn 2010 collection (pictured) and they set of everything they were matched with perfectly.

Resurrection of the Classic Aviator

February 25th, 2010 by red

Check these beauties out! We’ve loved all the recent variations on the classic Ray-ban Wayfairers from the likes of Super, but the other all time classic design has to be the quintessential Aviator style and we’re please to say they’ve just been given another lease of life. Our friends at Opening Ceremony have just collaborated with uber-cool New York optician Silver Lining to create a run of limited edition re-releases of a classic Aviator design – the 1986 Rodenstocks Aviator.

Karen Walker’s New Sun Gods

February 5th, 2010 by red

Here’s a preview of the 2010 lookbook from one of our favourite eyewear brands – Karen Walker. For this collection’s lookbook they’ve done away with the vampire model styling that got everyone talking last year in favour of some Egyptian / woodland style headdresses. The photos still grab the eye without detracting from the important bit – the collection – which is known as “Sun Gods” and consists of 35 pieces and retains the Karen Walker ethos of original, unpretentious, effortless style. Some of the metal frames that were introduced last year such as Escape, Agent and The Prisoner have been reinterpreted for this year’s collection with the same high quality lenses as always including quite a few graduated tints.

Retrosuperfuture Spring / Summer 2010

December 26th, 2009 by red

Hopefully you’ve all had a look through the previews of the forthcoming Spring / Summer 2010 range from sunglasses brand Super, but if not hopefully this latest preview will inspire you to take a look back through our journal to check out the others. The frames in their new collection has followed quite an angular, geometric theme with lots of straight lines and sharp angled corners but this latest “W” style takes the theme to an extreme.

Super Sunglasses – New Releases

November 30th, 2009 by red

We’ve just seen some more pictures of the latest collection from one of our favourite brands of Sunglasses, Retrosuperfuture (a.k.a Super) and it’s fair to say we were pretty impressed (alright, that’s a blatant understatement – we love ‘em!). The three that really caught our eye were the Sideview which is based around Super’s classic FlatTop design but with new arms which feature side panels with lens inserts that give them a whole new look.
