NEW IN-STORE CREEPERS FOR MEN

March 19th, 2010 by Kyle

Guys we have some top quality footwear for you this week and New york based Opning Ceremony footwear certainly does it for us. By now you know how we like it. We like to push tings forward in the words of Mr Skinner. These certainly had us salivating when we first saw them and on receiving the delivery earlier this week we can say we certainly are not disappointed. Check it – suede uppers, crepe sole, part wally, part brothel creeper, part moccasin – these reference so many different footwear genres and styles its hard not to love everything about them! Click here for a closer look.

Darkstar: Cutting it Fine

March 15th, 2010 by Skilla

What happens when you’re a music artist (or 2), working intensively on a highly anticipated album for months on end and not everything you do is good enough for the final cut? It doesn’t seem right that all that time be spent producing new sounds and creating what essentially becomes a final piece of art, only to shelve at least half of what took the time to make it. But, that’s development and that’s usually how it works.

Whilst Darkstar (aka James Young and Aiden Whalley) are busy in their Clapton studio, recording vocals and finishing up the long awaited debut album, soon to be released on Hyperdub, I’ve been lucky enough to hear snippets of the work in progress and some of the music that hasn’t quite made it to the end. James put rejected tune Automating out on the web for listening a couple weeks ago and today his attention was brought to THIS uncommissioned video rework by design blogger Visual Overdose. It’s good to see how even work in progress can reach out to people, not just the final package.

The sound of Automating is quite different to the album, which unlike most of their previous material, is very much vocal based.

Still no set date for the album release, but shouldn’t be long now folks!

Wood Wood AW10 collection video

March 15th, 2010 by Kyle

In case you haven’t had the chance to see the wood wood aw collection yet, have a look at this video previewing whats to come. After seeing the collection a couple of weeks ago, i think Wood Wood have stepped it up again to produce a cleaner collection that is worked into more, in terms of tailored details. Word has it Kim Jones has been casting his eye over the collection, so expect more clean styles with a eye on luxury detailing. From Highsnobiety
