A round up of all the good stuff that has happened this week:

1. London photographer/film maker Will Robson Scott produces this beautifully touching short film that follows Graeme, a passionate skateboarder who has been a part of the London skate community for 25 years and whose eccentricities and enthusiasm for the sport are accentuated because of his condition, Asperger’s syndrome. Watch it here.

2. In our opinion Bullion is one of the most underrated artists at the moment, constantly delivering quality productions he drops his new E.P. Love Me Oh Please Love Me. A must listen.

3. Interview magazine ran a piece on Harmony Korine highly anticipated new movie Spring Breakers.

4. Bauhaus: Art as Life explores the diverse artistic production that made up its turbulent fourteen-year history and delves into the subjects at the heart of the school: art, culture, life, politics and society, and the changing technology of the age. The extensive show runs at The Barbican in London until 12th August.

Last night, Silas Adler / Soulland received top honors at DANSK Fashion Awards 2012 when he was named ‘Designer of the Year’. Congratulations from all at The Goodhood Store.

This Friday gone the entire Goodhood team was deeply saddened to hear the news of Beastie Boys founder Adam “MCA” Yauch passing away at the untimely age of 47. Arguably one of the most influential groups of all time, the Beastie Boys were instrumental in bringing hip-hop to the global masses. They released a string of masterpieces in the form of of Licensed to Ill (1986), Paul’s Boutique (1989) and Ill Communication (1994) as well as mastering the art of the music video many times over, the effect the Beasties have had on contemporary street culture is immeasurable.

If his musical legacy wasn’t enough, Yauch also ran a production company, Oscilloscope Pictures, whose rich output includes Exit Through The Gift Shop, We Need to Talk About Kevin and forthcoming LCD Soundsystem documentary Shut Up and Play the Hits as well as co-founding the Milarepa Fund, a charity raising money and awareness for the Tibetan independence movement.

A truly special individual. MCA you will be missed.

Mark Mulroney at Galleries Goldstein at Goodhood

Last Thursday saw the opening of Mark Mulroney’s Spring Time Pictures at Galleries Goldstein at Goodhood. For those that couldn’t make it down to the opening night here are some teasers from the show. If your in the London area we highly recommend dropping in as the level of detail on the painting is jaw dropping and must be seen in person. The gallery is open Thursday – Saturday and the show runs until May 26th.
