We can’t wait for our new range from Opening Ceremony to drop – the bits we’ve shared in the journal so far have literally had our mouths watering – and now it’s only gone and happened again! This time they’ve teamed up with artist Marc Hundley to create a series of four t-shirts featuring slogans designed by Marc and that already look destined to be a big hit. Marc has taken choice cuts of lyrics from songs by legendary Manchester icon Morrisey and his band the Smiths and printed them on both the front and back of plain white tees.
The range really seems to work an almost subliminal sense of contradiction into itself, first by using the Smith’s infamously solemn songs as a source yet finding relatively delicate snippets for the slogans, secondly by printing them using bold primary colours yet in a military style stenciled font – or are we in danger of over analysing things?? Either way, once again Opening Ceremony have collaborated in epic style and created yet more exciting gear to get our months watering even more!
