We posted a journal not too long ago about some of the new items from Rittenhouse that incorporated a bold new use of patterns and colour and today we that we’d share some of the details from an interview we saw with Sally Macdonald who, along with her husband Micah Hamdorf, represents the creative brains behind this quality label. Sally was asked to summarise the Rittenhouse philosophy which she understatedly described as being to just make “nice, refined clothes…for people who appreciate beautiful fabrics, design and manufacturing”, which rings true looking at all the Rittenhouse items we stock (take a look in the store to see what we mean).
Sally was also asked about the recent use of bold colour and patterns which were based on her daughter’s childhood pictures in the new collection and she described the project as being more of an exaggeration / extension of their main ranges rather than a complete change of direction but she didn’t dismiss to possibility of similar capsule collections in the future so watch this space!
