For anyone who hasn’t heard of Spike Jonze, firstly where there hell have you been? Secondly, he’s the guy responsible for some of the greatest music promos of all time like Sabotage by the Beastie Boys and Drop by Pharcyde.

He’s our kinda guy – smart, uncomplicated ideas brilliantly realized…you’ll love him. If your in New York Check the Opening Ceremony windows as Jonze has fitted out their window display with designs and props from his recent short film about lovelorn robots called “I’m Here” and, simply put, it looks great. They worked with artist Meryl Smith who actually created some of the original props for the film and they’ve also got hold of three copies of the limited edition “I’m Here” flipbook– take a look at it on youtube – just search for “opening ceremony flipbook” and enjoy.

It’s not long to go until our new line of Opening Ceremony M17 shoes drops along with a range of some of the freshest R. Newbold, Norse Projects and Perks and Mini goodies out there (check the homepage for more details) and we thought we’d keep the excitement levels high with a few choice cuts from a recent collaboration between O.C. and the historic, family run woollen mill, Pendleton. Pendleton have been doing-the-do for over 140 years so they know the score and bring a lot of kudos to this collection which ranges from the subtle (like the blue – grey shorts with the check details, pictured) to the in-yer-face / strictly hardcore (like the Mexican / Aztec patterned shorts, also pictured!).

One item so far from this collaboration that has really jumped out and grabbed us is the 100% wool patchwork shirt (pictured). Yes, it makes a bold statement and it may not be to everyone’s tastes but, god-damn, isn’t that name of the game? Can I get an “Amen”? Good work yet again Opening Ceremony.

We can’t wait for next year – we’ve got some really exciting additions coming on-line inc. Malin and Goetz, APC Madras and Opening Ceremony but we still appreciate great design when we see it whether we stock it ourselves or not and one of the most exciting ranges that is causing a real stir at the moment is the collaboration between Opening Ceremony and indie movie darling Chloe Sevigny.

We’ve mentioned it a couple of times recently so today we thought we’d be extra nice and show you what the fuss is all about (plus it’s an excellent excuse for us to look again at this great range!). Chloe has really left her own unique personal mark on this collection and even the initial lookbook entitled “Reds” had a quirky edge with the exclusive use of redheaded models -Chloe is quoted as saying she “thought that her collection of grey tweeds would look perfect on redheads” and we think she was spot on! Enjoy the pictures and keep checking back for updates regarding the Opening Ceremony range due to drop in early 2010.

The other day we let you know the exciting news about our forthcoming line from Opening Ceremony who recently collaborated with Hollywood’s own Chloe Sevigny – so today we thought we’d show you another of their recently previewed items – the Opening Ceremony x Timberland Convenience boot and the Opening Ceremony x Timberland Moccasin boot. The Moccasin is the more traditional of the two collaborations and is available in two different colourways which are both based on the custom-finish “burnished” leather which gives them a real “lived in” feel.

The slightly narrower of the two releases, the Moccasin works as a traditionally tough Timberland boot, but also works well as a prep-style deck shoe with a narrower legged pair of leans / trousers and they come with two interchangeable lace designs to mix things up. The Convenience is more of an out-an-out Timberland boot with their traditional tough silhouette, but with an innovative elastic lacing system that not only works a treat, it looks absolutely amazing. Again, two colourways are available but our favourite has to be the slightly paler of the two.
