Last night, Silas Adler / Soulland received top honors at DANSK Fashion Awards 2012 when he was named  ‘Designer of the Year’. Congratulations from all at The Goodhood Store.

One thing you’ve got to love about Silas and the guys at Soulland is the level of innovation the brand keeps incorporating into what they do – you’ve just got to think back to the over-long-dress-shirt dresses and of course the acclaimed ‘Adler’ peaked fedora for examples. Now they’ve pushed things forward again and have embraced the new video / youtube / vimeo era to officially showcase their latest releases by putting together a great little short film version of their latest ‘Walk’ lookbook.

Following our journal update about the great new t-shirts from Soulland x American Pictures in support of World Aids Day, Soulland were back on our radar again today with a new set of strides that appear to give some hints that the rumored return to fashion of the pressed trouser may well be true! Hmmm…ok…first off, many people have different opinions of this new development, but at the end of the day great things have come from anti-fashion statements (Vivienne Westwood and the punk movement anyone?) so keep your minds open!

Silas Adler, the man behind our Danish range Soulland, has already blown most people away with his fashion design / production skills (check out his Mondrian shirts in the store) but he’s now branching out yet again. He recently got involved with making a music video for a Danish band and earlier this year he created a special level for the PS3 game Little Big Planet which he used to show some of his upcoming ranges so there’s no denying they guy has skills, and although this latest venture may be a little lower key, it’s no less cool in our eyes.

Soulland have done it again with yet another killer product – this time it’s their take on the classic Sperry-style deck shoe. We all know that deck shoes are just about the hottest footwear silhouette going at the moment and this premium quality take on the design-classic is undoubtedly going to be, along with the classic Sperry original (take a look in our store if you fancy a pair), one of the most highly coveted versions on the market. Don’t get us wrong, this isn’t a case of playing copy-cat, Soulland have obviously applied more than just a little thought to the design process and have added some very subtle, individual touches that make them stand out in their own right.
