Will Sweeney has been busy this year – great collaborations with Medicom to produce the Fabrik cushion, slippers and waist bag along with his own label –Alakazam – and their sweet, sweet t-shirts (all of which are in our store you lucky things! Go take a look) and now Alakazam have just released a range of autumn / winter items that are all equally kick-ass. The range consists of a variety of fleeces, sweatshirts, several crew necks and a zipped hooded top. All of them feature Alakazam’s trademark playful graphic style which always takes great ideas and executes them in an uncomplicated way without loads of fuss and BS.

The other day we let you know the exciting news about our forthcoming line from Opening Ceremony who recently collaborated with Hollywood’s own Chloe Sevigny – so today we thought we’d show you another of their recently previewed items – the Opening Ceremony x Timberland Convenience boot and the Opening Ceremony x Timberland Moccasin boot. The Moccasin is the more traditional of the two collaborations and is available in two different colourways which are both based on the custom-finish “burnished” leather which gives them a real “lived in” feel.

The XX played to a sold out venue last night in Shoreditch, They are completely awe inspiring – this was a gig that held peoples breath for the duration they were on stage. I think there is something very special about a band that can hold a crowds silence.

With the clocks gone back and winter getting closer, we thought we’d turn our thoughts to the slightly more cheerful prospect of spring 2010 and revisit one of its most exciting, impending collections. Sabrina Dehoff first showed her spring / summer 2010 collection at her Berlin Fashion Week show which was entitled “Sweet Surrender” and we’ve been counting down until its release ever since. The show featured extensive use of her stunning must-have trainer jewelry (take a look in our journal history for more details) but the collection overall is very delicate with a lot of pastel colours that really bought out the best in the accessories.

There’re aren’t a huge amount of details available about the latest collaboration between goodhood brand Rockers NYC and the Japanese label Swagger at the moment, but so far, the little bit of feedback out there has been really positive. The tees are available with either a black base layer or charcoal grey base layer overlaid with an electric, Tron-esque graphic with a “Rockers NYC x Swagger” warning label to finish things off.

Been working hard recently on the summer installment of our long term Goodhood collaboration with Paul Smith’s R.Newbold. Good things are sure to be a coming and we are really happy with what we have created for SS10.

Just incase you didn’t know already, designing stuff is far from being glamorous. Spending days choosing zips, buttons, thread colours and linings, is worlds apart from the ridiculous media hype associated with ‘Fashion’. The common assumption that designing clothes means you’re part of some untouchable world that people read about in magazines is a fallacy. Unless, I suppose, you’re Kate Moss, or some other equally naff celeb, designing your own celeb line, for which you dont actually design, or even have anything to do with, you just wear in in some mag and get payed millions for making people believe you do. Whatever. If you are the real thing it’s not glamorous. And in my experience, it never has been. Just lots of talented passionate people working hard and long behind the scenes to make good gear. That’s why I love it. So to all the unrecognised, unreported creative masses, grafting hard and agonising about the details most don’t notice – big up!  And to everyone at Paul Smith, esp Ben and Jo..thanks for making our job easy and ace..we love working with you!
