Goldwin has landed at Goodhood, direct from Japan. Since 1951, they have been bridging the gap between humankind and nature with their dedication to detail, excellent fabric selection and unparalleled quality. To mark this very special launch, we put their AW24 collection on some of the most sartorially educated people we know; our Goodhood community.
JAMIE
JAMIE WEARS Oakley Eye Jacket Redux Sunglasses, Goldwin Pertex Quantum Down Parka, Goldwin WF Light Long Sleeve T-Shirt, Goldwin Relax Staight Easy Pants, Goodhood Worldwide Twisted Yarn Sock
GOODHOOD: What do you know about Goldwin?
JAMIE: They make outdoor clothes, and they look nice. It's a nice mix of both looking nice and functioning for the outdoors, which is hard to do.
GOODHOOD: Have you worn Goldwin before?
JAMIE: I've worn the shell running trousers, I wore them on a four day running trip around Mont Blanc. I didn't really think about them, which is the best thing about a piece of clothing. It's just there, it works. For clothing that's meant to be practical, they don't always look nice... And the shell pants do look nice.
GOODHOOD: Can you tell us more about your run in Mont Blanc?
JAMIE: It was basically just a hard holiday. I wanted to do something nice where I got to see a tonne of stuff, a nice trip that was hard but interesting. Did the Tour du Mont Blanc, ran around, ate a lot of spaghetti, saw a lot of goats and marmots. Marmots are crazy, everybody should go and look those up.Â
GOODHOOD: What drew you to the Goldwin pieces you're wearing today?
JAMIE: I'm vertically challenged in some ways, and I think everything I'm wearing fits well. The cuts are all great, I don't have to adjust anything. That's rare to find sometimes, it's relaxed but not lazy looking.Â

INDIA
INDIA WEARS Oakley Radar EV Path Sunglasses, Goldwin Pertex Quantum Down Parka W, Goldwin Windstopper Goretex Labs Puffy Vest, Goldwin WF Light Hoodie W, South2 West8 Glove, Goldwin Polartec Power Stretch Easy Pants, Hoka One One U Bondi 8 TS Caged
GOODHOOD: Have you heard of Goldwin before?
INDIA: I first heard about Goldwin a few years ago when I saw one of their epic campaigns in Eye_C Mag.
GOODHOOD: What features/functionality do you look for in outdoor clothing?
INDIA: I’m drawn to outdoor clothing with a sleek design, pieces that are adaptable and versatile enough to be worn in any scenario. Japanese brands tend to do this by best blending classic silhouettes with high quality breathable fabrics and of course added functionality like pockets!
GOODHOOD: What drew you to the clothing you’re wearing today?
INDIA: I felt the need to layer up and I love earth tones. I chose the Goldwin fleece trousers, which have an excellent fit, and paired them with a green waffle hoodie. The balaclava detail on the hoodie is a great addition for colder weather. To complete the outfit, I added Goldwin’s puffer jacket it's a staple piece that not only keeps its shape but also makes a bold statement.

OLIVER
OLIVER WEARS Goldwin Pertex Quantum Down Parka, Goldwin WF Light Long Sleeve T-Shirt, Goldwin Polartec Power Stretch Easy Pants
GOODHOOD: What do you know about Goldwin?
OLIVER: I know it's been around for the longest time, their product is ridiculously good quality. I think they've been around for a lot longer than most people think, and they've always been a beautiful minimalist brand.
GOODHOOD: What is it that draws you to Goldwin as a brand, as someone with a big interest in running and the outdoors? You run Your Friendly Runners, you've got your coffee space Knees Up.Â
OLIVER: I think the reason why is because Goldwin works across every dimension, every aspect of what I need from clothes. To be able to wear commuting, going to meetings, running. My first link to Goldwin was buying into their product when it wasn't purposed for running, but their lighter stuff did work well for running. Insane fabrics, very breathable, so I just re-purposed their collections for mainly winter running. Their stuff always worked really really well. When I first started running 7 years ago, it felt like so many other brands were noisy and overly-branded, and Goldwin was just a perfect, minimal, and high quality company that were suitable for running.Â
GOODHOOD: The fabrics and the quality do the talking.
OLIVER: Yeah, exactly. I'll always spend a little bit extra to have something that works really well, that fewer people are wearing I guess. It's nice to see that Goodhood are doubling down, for the first time in as long as I can remember I'll be able to try the clothes on in London. I really enjoy the crossover between casual and active with Goldwin, and I think they do it so naturally without having to explain.
GOODHOOD: What drew you to the Goldwin pieces you're wearing?
OLIVER: It's refreshing to see them using what looks like the most refined fleece jeresy material. It's insane, looks like the perfect fleece, that won't pick up every piece of debry. It's lightweight but structured, just classic Goldwin; a fabric refined. Even of the cuffs, the drawstring lets the trouser sit on my shoes so perfectly. I've also had the jacket before so I know how warm and breathable it is. It's all stuff that would perfectly be incorporated into my existing wardrobe.

JACK
JACK WEARS Oakley Eye Jacket Redux Sunglasses, Goldwin Pertex Quantum Down Parka, Goldwin Windstopper Goretex Labs Puffy Vest, Goldwin Polartec Power Stretch Half Zip Pullover, Goldwin WF Light Hoodie, Goldwin All Direction Active Hike Shirt, Goldwin Polartec Power Stretch Easy Pants, Hoka One One U Tecton X 2 TS
GOODHOOD:Â What do you know about Goldwin?
JACK:Â I know that Goldwin produces some of the cleanest silhouettes of outdoor wear that money can buy paired with some of the highest quality materials and have a pretty extensive history of doing that.
GOODHOOD:Â Have you worn Goldwin before?
JACK:Â Yeah my Dad used to be massively into expeditions and hiking so when I was younger he would let me wear some of his clobber, some of it being Goldwin, it was more of an all of the gear no idea outfit from me, nevertheless I looked the part and was protected from the conditions up north.
GOODHOOD:Â What functionalities in outdoor clothing are you drawn towards?
JACK:Â Personally my favourite functionalities in outdoor clothing are drawstrings at the hem of jackets and on trousers as it opens the door for adjusting the garment for the desired fit, whether its bringing the trouser leg in for a specific shoe or cinching the hem in for a more cropped fit.
GOODHOOD: Whats your favourite piece you're wearing today, and why?
JACK: I’m torn between the down parka and the balaclava hooded waffle knit, both fit so nicely and are light in weight yet still really insulted which you wouldn’t think would be possible yet Goldwin have mastered that art.

AMBER
AMBER WEARS Oakley Eye Jacket Redux Sunglasses, Goldwin Pertex Quantum Down Parka W, Goldwin Windstopper Goretex Labs Puffy Vest, Goldwin WF Light Long Sleeve T-Shirt, Goodhood Worldwide Space Dye Sock, Hoka One One U Bondi 8 TS Caged
GOODHOOD: Have you heard of Goldwin before?Â
AMBER:Â I have heard of Goldwin before. In fact, on my recent trip to Tokyo I went out of my way to see the brand in person. The colours and designs are so thoughtful yet practical.Â
GOODHOOD:Â Have you worn much Goldwin before?
AMBER:Â I don't own any Goldwin but after wearing it today, the down puffer is definitely on my wish list!
GOODHOOD: What are your non-negotiable features for a solid winter outerwear piece?
AMBER:Â Insulation is a must. If it's not keeping you warm, then what's the point? But next to practicality, it needs to look good. If it doesn't elevate an outfit then I don't want it.
GOODHOOD:Â What's your favourite piece of Goldwin you're wearing today, and why?
AMBER:Â The down puffer for sure. The colour is just sooo perfect and the oversized fit is banging. Plus it's warm!

JAKE
JAKE WEARS Goldwin Logo Cotton Cap, Goldwin 0 Gore-Tex Seed Shell Jacket, Goldwin WF Light Long Sleeve T-Shirt
GOODHOOD: Have you heard of Goldwin before?
JAKE: Goldwin has actually been on my radar for a number of years now. A lover of all things outdoors and performance, they’re a brand that perfectly blends interesting fabrics and cuts that don’t lose sight of their functionality. I actually first came across them digitally whilst browsing online blogs for some inspiration, their campaigns are always eye-catching and summarise their collections perfectly.
GOODHOOD: What are your non-negotiable features for a solid winter outerwear piece?
JAKE: If we’re talking about a jacket for example and aside from the obvious like being waterproof, an obvious essential for here in London… It’ll come down to the attention to detail with its overall design. For example, when I’m looking at a garment on the shelf I’ll study not only its construction but I’ll look at things like how the zips, cuffs designed or what is the paneling like. If I try it on, I look at things like how does it sit on the body, is the collar structured or how does the hood sit when up and down. These small details tend to show the care that’s gone into something.
GOODHOOD: Have you worn much Goldwin before?
JAKE: I’ve always had a few pieces of Goldwin within my wardrobe from basic pieces like their blank t-shirts to pieces that are a bit more special. For me, it’s their running collection that I want to delve more into.
GOODHOOD: What drew you to the clothing you’re wearing today?
JAKE: I’m not the most confident when it comes to colour so I like to focus on either solid colours or look to use different materials to build that sense of layering. Brands like Goldwin who focus on multiple types of technical materials gives me that opportunity. I opted for the brown waffle long sleeve as I felt it complimented my trousers nicely whilst in a slightly larger fit, it gave a nice cropped like appearance to the jacket.

CARA
CARA WEARS Goldwin 0 Gore-Tex Seed Shell Jacket, Goldwin Pertex Quantum Down Parka W, Goldwin WF Light Long Sleeve T-Shirt, Goldwin All Direction Active Hike Shirt, Goldwin Relax Staight Easy Pants, Goodhood Worldwide Space Dye Sock, Suicoke Bowal
GOODHOOD: Have you heard of Goldwin before?
CARA: I have and have seen a lot about it online, although I can't say I've seen it in person much. It's great to be able to try on so many pieces.Â
GOODHOOD: What features do you gravitate towards in outdoor clothing?
CARA: The weight mostly. I like layering in the winter and being able to wear multiple pieces of outerwear at once, without it feeling too bulky or too heavy.Â
GOODHOOD:Â What's your favourite piece of Goldwin you're wearing today, and why?
CARA: The down parka. It's insulated and warm without being heavy or too puffy, to the point where I can layer another jacket over the top of it. And the colour is so good!
