As a homage to Gasbook* we fired 10 questions over to streetwear label POWERS front-man Eric Elms unearthing his thoughts on design, colours and what he hates the most. Powers, named after the street Eric has his studio on, Powers Street, acts as another creative outlet for the talented artist. Being inspired and excited by many other brands from New York like Supreme, SSUR, Natural Born, aNYthing, Eric felt like it was good time to catapult into fashion. Also seeing individual artists like Peter Sutherland (C-N-Y), Cali, BrainDead, LQQK, OXBLOOD, Ken Kagami, KnowWave, etc really spurred Eric Elms into doing his own thing.
This season Eric Elms embellishes POWERS with more screws, peace signs and the ever famous ‘Kilroy’ who often features in Eric’s work, which was first appropriated when Eric created the book ‘Wish You Were Here’ that involved Kilroy and his huge nose going over every iconic image Eric could think of. This included 'Jumpman' Jordan, Levis and Mercedes. POWERS releases his collection here on the Goodhood site.
