Ibiza is well known for its night life and sun kissed beaches, but if you stray off the beaten track there's a treasure trove of hidden gems dotted around the island untouched by the tourist hum drum. The rich and fertile inlands provide an incredible variety of fresh foods, and the varying coastline geography plays host to hundreds of coves, caverns and fresh seafood eateries.  A car is essential for your trip, but as the island is a little over 20 kilometres in length at its longest point, you can experience more than one point of interest in a single day. We're not going to give you everything, but we'll give you some tips on what to pack, where to go and what to do in Ibiza, the Goodhood way.

HIDDEN GEMS

1. La Paloma Restaurant: The ultimate lunch spot serving authentic homemade food utilising the very best fresh, local ingredients in beautifully relaxing surroundings.

2. Benirras Beach: The original hippie beach spot, each night the sun descends spectacularly to the sound of the locals playing hypnotizing drum rhythms.

3. Aguas Blancos Beaches: A favourite for locals, Aguas Blancos is home to perfectly sheltered sandy beaches.

4. The Fish Shack: The epitome of a hidden gem, The Fish Shack is literally a shack on the rocks, delicately perched on the sea's edge. No sign posts, no roof and no menu; the food is all caught that very day. Take a pew with a beer and watch the sun go down.

5. Ses Boques Restaurant:  A beautiful restaurant situated on the beach offering traditional Spanish cuisine and seafood. Not easy to get to but that makes it all the more worthwhile.

6. Hotel Can Talaias: This is Terry Thomas' old house, which is now run by his son and daughter in law. It has the spirit of an old spiv and houses everyones favourite; an honesty bar with plenty of draught beers.

7. Moon Bay: This place is as good and ethereal as it sounds, offering a stunning sunset, crystal laden caves and an adventurous entrance and exit route.
