BRADLEY ZERO'S TUNES OF 2017 so far
For Record Store Day 2017 we asked South London based DJ and label boss Bradley Zero for a run down on some of his favourite releases of the year so far.
Bradley's Top Five:
ALEK LEE - SFAROT
"Antinote has been one of my favourite labels of the past few years and this 12" from Alek Lee proves that label boss Zaltan is onto something
very special indeed with this most prolific of Parisian labels".
VALENTINO MORA - ASH WALK
"Ash Walk is the brand new EP from another Parisian label called IDO (Intercontinental Dance Organisation) - headed up by Valentino Mora whose productions are 'less about technology and more about human spirit'. Now I like the sound of that!
FYI CHRIS - SNAFUBAR
"Snafubar is the latest release from Peckham duo FYI Chris on my own label, Rhythm Section International. For the release party at Spiritland the boys got a bit carried away with signing copies and ended up signing each with 12" with a joke. Highly collectable unique pieces, coming soon to Bandcamp!"
EKAMBI BRILLIANT - AFRICAN FUNK EXPERIMENTALS
"This is an incredible compilation from the fantastically named 'Ekambi Brilliant'. Africa Seven have compiled the funkier end of his catalogue featuring tonnes of psyched out effects, hard hitting breaks and trippy synths. Hailing from Cameroon, Ekambi brushed shoulders with other Cameroonian music legends such as Manu Dibango and Francis
Bebey, and although lesser known in the West, his discography is formidable and this compilation is a good tip to the rest of the iceberg".
FLORIST - D.VOTE
"Florist returns with an out and out anthem on the ever dependable Pacific Rhythm label with this catchy yet classic 12". The Vancouver flame burns as brightly as ever..."
