Shopping with Jordan Vickors

Voted one of London's top twelve boys to follow by i-D magazine, Jordan Vickors came through the store to pick his favourite pieces and talk Stussy, top London spots and life before Instagram.

How would you describe yourself and what you do to someone who doesn’t know you?

I am a creative consultant for Stussy, a stylist and I'm also involved in casting.

Where are you from originally? What was it like growing up there?

I was born in Bedford and grew up in Ampthill, Bedfordshire. Growing up there was refreshing when I look back at it. I had a nice normal up bringing, running around fields, playing video games and climbing trees.

How did you get involved with Stussy and the London Tribe?

A good friend of mine Tremaine Emory got me my first lookbook for them back in 2015. From then on out I'd just help with little bits, getting in contact with other kids, helping with events etc until it evolved into the place I'm in today.

Can you remember life before Instagram?

Of course, hahaha.

How do you think social media has influenced the younger generation?

In a positive way of course, it's given people a platform to share and show images and ideas, communicate better, critique and learn. It's just more information for people, it's a good thing, we're forward thinkers.

What are your favourite spots in London?

Princi on Wardour Street, the 1948 Store & Primrose Hill.

What are you listening to at the moment?

Nothing More To Say by The Frightnrs (Paul Simonon recommendation)!

What's the best place you’ve been in your life so far?

Right now I'm in the best place I've ever been (I'm talking about head space). Working on four projects at a time, seeing the world and working with some incredible people.

If you could go back to one place and time in history, where and when would it be?

New York, November 6th, 1962 - Andy Warhol's first solo exhibition.

What's your favourite piece of clothing you own?

2004 Yohji Yamamoto Biker Jacket.

Who or what keeps you inspired and why?

Apart from all the Stussy stuff I've been working on, right now my main inspiration is Bakar. I now have someone I can project my ideas onto but also grow with.

Future plans for Jordan?

I'm working on my own creative agency....
