World of Echo is Arthur Russell at his most intimate: cello, voice and tape effects layered into something between folk song and avant-garde composition. Originally released in 1986 to little notice, it's since been recognised as one of the most quietly radical records of its era, a hushed, hypnotic document that keeps revealing new textures the longer you sit with it.
