Good Vibes 60 - Mixed by My Panda Shall Fly

Features

My Panda Shall Fly dives into the deepest depths of dreamstate soundwaves and ambient electronica for number 60 in our Good Vibes series.

For those that don’t know, please introduce yourself...

I'm a 21 year old classically trained composer and percussionist having graduated from the prestigious Guildhall School of Music.

You were born in Sri-Lanka. It looks like a pretty special place! How was it growing up in there?

It was incredible. Though so many of my childhood memories are hazy, I feel very lucky to have spent my early life there. I  ate tropical fruit every day and played with my many dogs.

How old were you when you discovered you wanted to be involved in music and what were the influences behind this?

I think my first taste of hearing something exciting and raw and home-grown was when I discovered UK Garage blasting out of the local pirate radio station at the time which was the incredible Delight 103FM. So Solid Crew were regulars on the show and went on to become a big influence for me.

Where did the name ‘MPSF' come from?

It was taken from a passage in the Egyptian Instruction of Amenemope, an ancient text thought to have been composed during the 12th dynasty.

Who are you listening to at the moment?

Sweat, Flora Yin-Wong and Wu-Lu.

Future plans for My Panda Shall Fly?

Writing with & producing great new talent like Swipht, Rocheman and Loz Keystone. I'm also looking forward to working more in theatre, dance and sound design.
