POPPY
POPPY WEARS AMOMENTO Bulky Knit Cardigan, Hommegirls Classic Shirt, Beams Boy Pleated Wrap Skirt, Museum Of Peace & Quiet Icon Socks, Puma Speedcat OG
GOODHOOD: What are you wearing today, and why did you choose each piece?
POPPY: I'm wearing the Puma Speedcats with a denim Beams Boy skirt, which I love. The length is perfect and it goes with everything. I've paired it with a striped shirt and a very chunky knit cardigan from AMOMENTO. It's finally cold enough in London to really layer and this knit is perfect for over shirts. AMOMENTO is one of my favourite brands at the minute and their winter pieces are always so good. I kind of regret not pairing it with the matching bonnet.
GOODHOOD: How do you usually style a slimmer fit shoe?
POPPY: I like to have a bigger silhouette in the clothing when styling a slimmer shoe. Nothing too tight fitting personally. Oversized always.
GOODHOOD: What are your thoughts on the Y2K trends in fashion we're currently experiencing? We're seeing a lot of vintage/re-purposing these days.
POPPY: I love to see vintage pieces incorporated into style! Really helps to make outfits individual. However I'm personally never going to be seen in the low rise slim jeans and crop tops.
GOODHOOD: What's your views of archival sneakers getting reissued in a period of Y2K trends?
POPPY: I love it. It gives a cool vintage style to a look. I think there's been so many cool sneaker designs in the past that we shouldn’t forget about.
LOUIS
LOUIS WEARS Goldwin 0 Gore-Tex Seed Shell Jacket, thisisneverthat PERTEX Light Down Jacket, C.E Cav Empt Crew Neck Double Knit, AFFXWRKS Transit Pant, Puma Speedcat OG
GOODHOOD: What are you wearing today, and why did you choose each piece?
LOUIS: I am wearing Goldwin 0, Thisisneverthat and AFFXWRKS - I love layering padded jackets under a waterproof outer shell. I haven’t worn a wide baggy bottom for a while but loved the colour and texture of the AFFXWRKS trousers.
GOODHOOD: Why these pairings for the Puma Speedcat?
LOUIS: The Puma Speedcat is a sleek silhouette often paired with slimmer fitting attire. I wanted to switch things up so layered a few pieces and wore a looser fitting bottom that I feel elevates the shoes. Colour is also important to me, the autumnal tones work really well together.
GOODHOOD: You've got a solid scope of experience of archival and vintage streetwear, from founding Holsales, your consulting work, etc. What's your view on the Puma Speedcat OG being reissued in 2024?
LOUIS: Its always nice to see brands reissuing gems from the past allowing the younger generation to enjoy what they may have missed the first time around alongside the nostalgia created for those that had them the first time around. Whenever I think of Puma I think of three silhouettes that I think helped build the history of the brand: Mostro, Speedcat and Suede. All three cater to a different type of audience so it is great for the community to have access to them again. I also think its great for brands to delve back into their archives to look back on their history as it definitely helps build a scope for future silhouettes inspired by their past.
LAUREN
LAUREN WEARS AFFXWRKS Parka Shell Jacket, Farah Japan High Gauge Striped Crewneck Sweater, Lauren Perrin Goodhood Exclusive Dexter Dress, ARCS Gravity Bag, Puma Speedcat OG
GOODHOOD: Talk us through your fit. What was your thought process when putting it together?
LAUREN: I really wanted to stay true to the Goodhood aesthetic while also keeping it authentic to my personal taste.
GOODHOOD: Love the pairing of your own Lauren Perrin Goodhood Exclusive Dexter Dress with menswear, super nice contrast.
LAUREN: I wanted to create a balance between femininity and effortless vibe by pairing the Puma Speedcats with an oversized jacket from the menswear section. The jacket adds a touch of androgyny, contrasting beautifully with the ultra-feminine elements of the outfit, such as the dress’s ruffles and the sexy lace tights, creating a look that feels unexpected.
GOODHOOD: What are your thoughts on the Y2K trend in fashion we're currently experiencing? We're seeing loads of vintage and re-purposing at the moment.
LAUREN: I love the comeback of Y2K trends because it reflects how cyclical style can be, and how nostalgia plays a powerful role in shaping contemporary aesthetics. Now we're seeing those elements reinterpreted with a modern twist, often paired with sustainability-focused practices like vintage shopping, thrifting, and repurposing. This mix of retro styles and eco-consciousness feels very reflective of today’s cultural mood.
GOODHOOD: What's your views of archival sneakers getting reissued in a period of Y2K trends?
LAUREN: I think it's a really cool fusion of nostalgia and modernity. I remember wearing the exact same sneakers in pink when I was 11 years old so I found it quite funny to be wearing them again now.
RHYS
RHYS WEARS Our Legacy Vintrospec Parka, Our Legacy Borrowed BD Shirt, Stussy Wide Wale Corduroy Beach Pants, Puma Speedcat OG
GOODHOOD: Please break down everything you’re wearing today.
RHYS: Our Legacy and Stussy makes up a lot of my day to day uniform, I'm a big fan of both brands and feel they have a natural synergy when worn together.
GOODHOOD: You're a sneakerhead. What are you thoughts on the 1999 Puma Speedcat getting a reissue in 2024?
RHYS: I think the Puma Speedcat has been reissued at the perfect time, we’ve seen the trends of chunkier sneakers and now the tide has shifted into low profile styles which the Speedcat perfectly represents. Having strong Formula 1 heritage the red colour way matches that and they feel fast on feet.
GOODHOOD: We feel like we’re seeing repurposing, reusing, re-releasing a lot. We’re into it. Where does it sit with you?
RHYS: I feel it’s product specific, a lot of the time you’re grateful to see a silhouette return, whether that is to relive a time in your life or simply lace up and enjoy a pair that hasn’t been readily available for sometime, it’s nostalgic, it’s fun. Other times I feel product captured a certain time and feeling that can’t be repackaged even with the product being reissued, I feel it’s a delicate balance and something that people have quite opposing views on depending on the product in question.
GOODHOOD: What do you think about the Y2K trend?
RHYS: As with every trend it has elements you love and hate, with a lot of trend based fashion it opens your eyes to silhouettes and pieces you may have forgotten, this is important for personal style as it allows you evaluate what you're wearing and how you could incorporate silhouettes from the trend cycle into your wardrobe.
