Originally released in 1935, Converse's iconic Jack Purcell sneaker has well and truly stood the test of time to become an ultimate footwear icon. Purcell, a world champion Badminton player, designed the shoe to provide players with increased protection and support on court. Although the Jack Purcell isn't used for Badminton today, the sneaker has taken on a life of it's own within menswear and become a footwear staple in its own right.
Following the incredibly successful recent '70s' update that Converse introduced for its classic Chuck Taylor All Star, the Jack Purcell is the latest shoe to be re-interpreted by the brand. It features a host of new and innovative features whilst maintaining the effortless styling that has kept it a wardrobe staple for over fourty years including Nike Zoom technology in the sole and army grade duck canvas throughout.
